ELCTG
Holds Its First Synod
From October
15 through October 18, 2013, 48 delegates from the entire national
church attended.
The decisions
included : the ELCTG delegates decides YES on adopting the Title
of "BISHOP" instead of President . Partnership with ELCTG should
be direct with the ELCA and other partners instead of indirect
mission work. Rev Fatima Bass and Rev. Samuel Thomas remain the
leaders of the young ELCTG in The Gambia.

Baptism was done by Rev Fatima Bass Thomas. 7 were baptized.
Church
and Youth in the Development of the ELCTG
The youth
council of ELCTG discusses the development of the youth in the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of The Gambia. These discussions include,
among other things, issues like youth empowerment , vocational
training, education support and HIV / AIDS

Church
and Women
The church
allows complete empowerment of women at all levels inthe ELCTG.
Rev Fatima Bass empowers women in the church through locally conducted
seminars and women's meetings. Also, through leadership discussions
with the pastoral team, there is a complete understanding of gender
and empowerment.
